Big, fat drops falling. Newly dampened dust-smell is wonderful. Just one medium cloud over us now, but a promising start!

Rain is coming ... And new boots

Today dawned clear and became hot--really hot--quickly. By lunchtime there were towering white cumulus, and now there are dark patches of stormfront to the East. Fingers crossed.

Thoughts of early morning hikes in a greening desert make me doubly happy to find lovely new boots. All leather Mammuts (made by Raichle) with soft leather lining. So hard to find in today's Gore-Tex-fabric-dominated market. I love them!
